After earning his undergraduate degree in advertising from Baruch College, Bernard ‘Bernie’ West was ready to take the entertainment industry by storm. Initially, he worked as a nightclub comedian as part of the comedy duo Ross & West with friend Ross Martin working the hotel circuit in the Catskills and Poconos. Martin left eventually though, opening a void for his college buddy, soon to be life long partner Mickey Ross to step in.
The rest is history. After successfully submitting a script with Ross to become writers on the hit Norman Lear show All in the Family, the duo went on to produce immensely successful situational comedies such as All in the Family, its spin off The Jeffersons, and last but not least Three’s Company, serving as Executive Producer for its entire seven year run.
